How we match the machine

Four things that decide tumblast, hanger, table, conveyor or a room.

  1. Part size

Small mixed batches usually go tumblast or barrel. Larger or fragile castings go hanger or table.

  2. Material

Grey iron, steel and aluminium — media and cycle change with the alloy.

  3. Finish

Sand, scale and flash off so the part can be machined, coated or dispatched.

  4. What we need

Size, weight, alloy, and whether this is a foundry cell or a jobbing mix.

Questions buyers ask

Machine, finish and what we need to quote casting cleaning.

01 Which machine for casting cleaning?
Tumblast or rotary barrel for small batches that can tumble. Hanger or table when parts are larger, hollow or must not knock each other. We confirm from size and alloy.
02 What finish do foundries usually ask for?
Sand and scale removed so the casting can be machined or coated. We only quote a Sa grade if you specify one.
03 What do you need for a quote?
Part size and weight, alloy, how many per hour or per shift, and indoor or outdoor install.
04 Can one line clean iron and aluminium?
Sometimes, with a media and cycle change. Tell us both alloys — we will say if one machine is enough.
